Join us for an evening of beautiful music in our atmospheric medieval hall.

Fashion together timeless piano-led songwriting with a witty, affable knack for storytelling and you’re somewhere in Louis Coupe’s ballpark. Effortlessly embodying the spirit of the troubadours of yesteryear, a night sat around his piano is a deeply honest and cathartic experience. His carefully crafted songwriting tells of life growing up in the quiet hills of Shropshire, his grandparents 65 years together, as well as both fun and frank reflections on life as a young man. Louis Coupe is the best friend you didn’t know you needed.

It was a surprise ticket to see Elton John that saw a then 12-year-old fall immediately in love with the piano. Sat for hours searching for internet video tutorials, Louis set about teaching himself the pioneering catalogues of rock n rolls greats - The Beatles, ELO – “I didn’t care for technique or doing it correctly, I just wanted to play songs”. Such was his unorthodox approach; a brief stint of jazz piano lessons was stopped abruptly when his tutor told him the school wouldn’t be associated with his eccentric playing style.

Undeterred, the next decade saw Louis notch up over a thousand live shows, honing his craft the way his contemporaries had before him; working his way through a number of bands until he found his home performing rowdy piano bar marathons anywhere that would take him. His extensive time cutting his teeth out on the road gave him the perfect preparation for recent performances at the Royal Albert Hall and BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend, as well as four consecutive sold out shows at the Green Note in London in 2024.
