Join Emma Barran-Scott from Sweet Heritage in our latest Heritage Talk, as she takes you an on a mouth-watering trip down memory lane, going back to a time before sweets and then discovering how we became a nation of sweet tooths. Explore sweets and how they evolved from being a treat for the rich and elite, to being offered as an alternative to medicine. This talk offers the chance to reminisce about your childhood favourites and learn how sweets gained their place in popular culture. Yummy scrummy samples are provided as part of the talk.
This heritage talk takes place at 7pm on Thursday 22nd May 2025, and lasts for about an hour followed by a Q+A.

The talk is aimed at grown-ups who have a sweet tooth and fond memories of old fashioned sweets.
