Explore the rich history of the remarkable Bournville, the garden village created by George and Richard Cadbury. Discover the story from the factory arriving in 1879 to the gradual development of the village, intended as a model to improve social housing and create an ideal community. Your friendly and knowledgeable guide will focus on the origins and motivations of Bournville. The tour will focus on the village green which includes the community buildings such as the Rest House, Carillon and Quaker meeting house.


Bournville Heritage Walking Tours start at 2pm, last for about 90 minutes and take place on the following dates:

Venue
Please meet 10 minutes prior to the tour at Selly Manor Museum, Maple Road, Bournville, B30 2AE
(Your ticket entitles you to free entry to Selly Manor Museum so feel free to arrive early or stay afterwards to explore).

Weather and Walking
The tour is entirely outdoors, so please wear comfortable shoes and suitable clothing, and bring a brolly if it's raining. The tour will go ahead regardless of the weather, unless it becomes unsafe for staff and visitors. We will be on our feet for up to 90 minutes, there are a few benches on the route if you would like a rest.
