• Shenley Heritage Day

in 1950, 50 years after the establishment of Bournville Village Trust, work began on BVT's biggest single project to date, Shenley Fields Neighbourhood Development. It comprised 750 properties including shops, houses, apartments, maisonettes and bungalows, some of which were self-builds by future tenants.

Come to this family-friendly event to celebrate and explore one of the Bournville Village Trust estates. There will be something for everyone of all ages to take part in and enjoy, as we celebrate and explore the people and community of Shenley. 

• Watch black and white footage of Shenley in the film ‘When we build again’ 
• Are you a resident of Shenley? Bring along objects, photos, documents that reflect your life and the history of Shenley. 
• Enter the competition 'Who’s lived here the longest?'
• Add information and drawings to the Shenley timeline of key events.
• Take a walking tour around the Shenley estate. *
• Sign up to record an oral history recording with the Bournville Village Trust Heritage Officer.  
• Interested in local history? Sign up to join Shenley history group.
• Take part in dressing up and take a selfie with George Cadbury. 
• Enter the kids' art competition to design a mural for Shenley Court Hall.

No booking required - just drop in between 11am and 3pm.
