Autumn is here!
Autumn has well and truly arrived at Selly Manor Museum!
Despite the confusion of the plus 20 degrees this week, we have started to dig out our woolly jumpers and the heaters have turned on. The school children have started to ask whether they should keep their coats on and we have started to think about playing our Tudor games inside. The leaves in our beautiful garden are slowly turning from green into a lovely golden brown and an infestation of lady bugs has flown through our doors.
Although the summer has been lovely, we are looking forward crisp autumn days, the golden, reddy brown colours of nature and all the wonderful things autumn brings. Autumn means you can play around in piles of leaves, have conker wars and go apple picking! Autumn is also a time for wrapping up warm and starting hot chocolate season. Autumn also means it is nearly time for Halloween and Bonfire night and all the exciting things that happen at this time of year – it’s a time for autumn themed crafts, pumpkin carving, wellington boots and long walks in the woods!
So welcome Autumn, we are so happy you have arrived at Selly Manor.
