What is Christmas really about? Is it about Father Christmas? The gifts under the tree? All of the yummy food? Or is there some deeper reason for the season?
Join us as we meet some people who can tell us all about that starry night, that changed everything. A walk through Christmas, like never before!
This very special production has been put together especially for the Bournville Christmas Festival by the very talented Riverside Performing Arts. Having previously staged The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark and The Shepherd Girl's Story at Selly Manor Museum this Birmingham-based theatre company come with a great reputation for creating funny, creative and moving stories for all ages. Join us for what promises to be a festive family treat!

Tickets will be on sale from 10am on Friday 20th November.
The first performance is at 11.15am on Saturday 5th December and a new performance will begin every 15 minutes until 2.30pm (with a break at lunchtime). Each performance lasts for approximately 30 minutes.
Performance start times are:
11.15am, 11.30am, 11.45am, 12pm, 12.15pm
1.30pm, 1.45pm, 2pm, 2.15pm, 2.30pm
The performances will move to 4 different scenes in and around Selly Manor Museum. Please arrive 10 minutes early and upon arrival go to the Selly Manor entrance on Maple Road, Bournville, where you will be shown to the beginning of the performance.
This is an outdoor production so please wrap up warm and bring a brolly! The performance will continue regardless of weather, unless it becomes dangerous for the performers or audience. You will also walk a short distance to each scene so we recommend good footwear for the time of year.
Booking is essential by following the link on this page from 20.11.2020. Each performance will be for a maximum of 12 people and will cost £7.50 per person for adults and children aged 4 and over. Children aged 3 and under are welcome to attend for free and a ticket must still be booked. Tickets are non-refundable or transferable.
If the performance is cancelled due to an extended lockdown beyond 2nd December or Covid restrictions are introduced which prevent it from going ahead we will issue full refunds. We hope that you are able to book now with confidence. Your contact details will be retained for 21 days in accordance with the government's Test and Trace scheme.
How will we keep you safe?
We will have hand sanitiser stations on entry, one way systems, social distancing and the majority of the event will take place outdoors.
Adults must wear a face covering and all visitors must socially distance from others not in their household or support bubble.
The performances take place in the Selly Manor garden and on a grassed area on Maple Road in Bournville. There are no steps and it is a level surface. If you would like to know more or discuss accessibility then please call the Selly Manor Museum team on 0121 472 0199.
